The tiles of the Kaleido series belong to the stone effect porcelain stoneware, with a modern reference to wood effect stoneware. In fact, if you look at the surface of the tile, you can see darker shaded veins that give the appearance of imitation wood.

Kaleido grey has a fairly prominent and dark shade of this colour. It is certainly a perfect tile to be combined with other cool shades that make the room look modern and minimal.

Thickness

The 59.5x59.5 and 22.5x90 formats are 10 mm thick, while the 45.5x45.5 format is 9 mm thick.

Where to lay Kaleido grey lapped rectified

This tile is perfect for the living area, for a studio or office, for the bathroom. It is very easy to clean: for the lapped surface I recommend using a neutral detergent, not too aggressive to avoid ruining the lapping.

Laying advice

You can lay this tile with a minimum joint of 2 mm as it is rectified.

For a modern, non-static effect, we recommend laying staggered at 1/4.

If you want to have a "tidy" floor, I recommend having the tiles laid giving the same direction to their veins. If the tiles are laid without studying the direction of the veins, the result will be a messy floor.

As it is a fairly dark colour, I recommend laying it in fairly large rooms. If you want to lay it in the bathroom, play with other lighter colours from the Kaleido series, so that the bathroom does not become gloomy.

What is lapped porcelain stoneware?

The lapped surface of a tile is different from the natural surface. You notice this immediately with the naked eye because the lapped surface is shinier than the natural surface, which is more opaque. If you touch a lapped surface you will also feel that it is smoother than the natural one.

So how do you get a lapped surface? Once the tile is manufactured, it undergoes polishing to make the surface smoother and softer. Be careful, however, not to confuse a lapped surface with a polished surface: lapping does not make the tile perfectly shiny with a mirror effect, it only makes it smoother and shinier.
